Disc brake rotor, also know as disc brake or simply a rotor, is the circular component in the brake system that rotates together with the wheel while the vehicle is in motion. It utilizes the friction applied by the brake pads to slow the vehicle down or put it into a complete stop. A rotor is paired with a brake caliper which houses the brake pads that sandwich the disc brake when the brake pedal is applied, which in turn reduce the rotational speed of the rotor.
