A battery cable is a type of thick insulated wiring that is connected to the battery. The positive wiring connects to the positive polarity of the battery while its other end is connected to the fuse box. The negative wiring, on the other hand, is connected to the negative polarity of the battery and its other end is connected to the frame of the vehicle to act as ground. The battery cable transmits electrical energy from the battery to the fuse box which is then distributed to power up different electrical circuits in the vehicle. An exposed wire may result to short circuit. A broken battery cable will not be able to send electrical power to the electrical circuits.
