A winch utilizes an extremely high torque rotation to pull in or let out a vehicle or other heavy objects. Most commonly used in off-road driving, winches provide that much needed power when pulling a vehicle out of a ditch, or slowly allowing the vehicle it is mounted on to slowly and safely descend a path that is extremely difficult to navigate.
