Agri-Cover, Inc. began their Go Green program in 2008 and within a year they had cut their landfill waste amount in half; Agri-Cover reduces their waste by recycling and changing materials they use to reduce waste generated, including working with suppliers to make changes in how their raw materials are packaged and sent to them; They reduce fuel usage and automotive waste by-products by encouraging carpooling by employees and switching to synthetic oil in company vehicles; Agri-Cover encourages education and participation by establishing a GREEN committee, an employee intranet site, distributing educational flyers and internal documents, inviting employees to bring recycling from home to reduce fuel use transporting recyclables and established a company garden that makes use of otherwise unused company property and is used for employee lunches during certain times of the year
