KYB – What Is The Difference Between GR-2 And Excel-G?

Other than color, that is.  And the name.  Actually, nothing.  The color and name have changed, but the product itself is actually exactly the same.  The silver color GR-2 is changing to the black Excel-G.  The reason for the change is KYB’s switch to a world-wide inventory, which should improve product availability.  Only the United States and Canada utilize this shock as the GR-2 in a silver color.  The rest of the world refers to it as the Excel-G, which is black in color.  For consistency, KYB is bringing the US and Canada part into compliance with the part name and color the rest of the world uses.

Another benefit of changing to the black color Excel-G is that the black color usually matches the OEM part your vehicle came with, keeping with a more consistent and stock look for your vehicle.  KYB is always working to improve their process and make it more efficient so that you can enjoy the best service and products available!
