Car Rivalries

Mac vs PC, Coca Cola vs Pepsi, McDonalds vs every other burger franchise—rivalries between companies are inevitable when it comes to selling similar products to the same specific groups of people. The automotive industry is no different, whatever type of vehicle—luxury, SUV, or gas efficient—are all aimed towards similar demographics. Whether it’s the automotive companies at each other’s throats or particular cars they produce, here are a couple of the most notorious car rivalries.

Round 1: It’s no secret that Chevy has some beef with Ford, or that Mercedes consistently tries to outdo BMW (and vice versa), and Toyota and Honda have been going at it for years. These big name companies have fueled the fire when it comes to keeping a rivalry alive—whether it’s because they’re trying to show who’s the boss from their originating country (i.e. Honda and Toyota) or because it all started with fictional characters peeing on the other brand’s logo decals—it’s unlikely these rivalries will die.

Round 2: In the supercar scene, it’s an all out war between Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini. It seems like a battle of style, power, and reputation (and maybe even who can price their cars the most expensive).

Round 3: Camaro vs Mustangs, this is basically just a flex off between these 2 iconic muscle cars.
