Today's Iconic Cars From Movies

Iconic vehicles from fan favorite films and tv are often met with nostalgia; simply mentioning vehicles like the DeLorean (Back to the Future), Batmobile (Batman circa 1955), and Dodge Charger (Dukes of Hazzard) are often met with cult status enthusiasm. Those vehicles were not only part of the movie or show, but became characters themselves—most clearly evidenced by the talking future car of the 80’s, Knight Rider’s KITT, a Pontiac Trans Am.

So what current vehicles are making an impact in pop culture today?

The first that would come to mind would be the more realistic take on what an actual Batmobile would look like in the modernized streets of Gotham City. The armored makeover puts aside its comic book origins and is the vehicle that any superhero deserves.

Another vehicle that’s been able to stand out among the rest is the Chevrolet Camaro from the Transformer’s movies. The Camaro was the perfect car to pair with the young protagonist in the film—showing off style and power.

While the first 2 may seem like cheats (they are after all modern incarnations of vehicle that have been known for decades), one iconic car from that past 10 years comes from Disney/Pixar, Lightning McQueen, the hybrid between a stock car and a more curvaceous Le Mans endurance racer. Though aimed at the younger demographic, even adults are aware of how popular Lightning McQueen is.
