If you consider yourself to be a car enthusiast even at the most minimal level, Top Gear is the show for you. Premiering over 10 years ago in the United Kingdom, Top Gear entered its 19th season earlier this year. However, it’s not the longevity of the show or even its hosts—Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May who are all entertaining and well, very British—but the plethora of vehicles they drive to the extreme as they visit different locales across the world.
The hour long show is broken down in several parts, one highlight includes the “epic” races pitting the hosts against one another in a vehicle of their choice then journeying through streets, stadiums, and terrain. Another great segment lies at the end of each episode as their guest—celebrities both from the UK and US—drive through a race course in an effort to have the best time among others. It’s interesting to see some celebrities land where they do to say the least.
The real focus of the show however, is the vehicles—presented in such a high quality visual style that the show has received acclaim for it. It almost feels as if you were at a car dealership looking at these amazingly unique and high end cars.
Witty, insightful, and exciting, Top Gear should be on your watch list.
