Bestop has been doing business for more than 50 years. The business started as a small trim shop where Tom Bradley made canvas tops for World War II Jeeps during the slow winter periods at his car-upholstery business in Boulder, Colorado. Bestop started as a garage business and later moved to an old school building with seven employees. Bestop has added to their product lines and operations over the years and now has 250 employees and is based out of Broomfield, which is between Boulder and Denver. Bestop also has manufacturing facilities in Mexico and the Orient. In addition, Bestop has offices in California, Nevada, Texas, Missouri and Michigan. Bestop's replacement soft-top products were available in two colors in 1954, but they have grown over the years to include bumpers, fender flares, a bed storage system and light truck accessories.

Bestop makes high-quality Jeep and truck accessories. Bestop designs and manufactures a wide variety of Jeep tops, both soft tops and hard tops, as well as other accessories that enhance function and looks. Bestop also now produces a line of truck caps and accessories, as well. Additionally, Bestop has been partnered with the Toyota truck and Toyota accessories market for the Land Cruiser for over 30 years.
