Mr. Gasket was founded in 1964 by then 24-year-old hot rodder Joseph F. Hrudka, who set about solving the problem of faulty exhaust gaskets for racers. He and his brother Tom used his own race car to design a line of gaskets that could handle the high temperatures and stresses that were present in the drag racing world. Over the years Mr. Gasket acquired many other brands to bring together under the Mr. Gasket Performance Group. Now the Mr. Gasket Performance Group has become the Prestolite Performance Group, but they are just as committed to designing new and innovative performance parts. The Prestolite Performance Group is made up of Mr. Gasket, Hays, Lakewood Industries, Quicktime, ACCEL and Mallory Ignition, for a well-rounded selection of companies.
