Valley started in 1947 making trailer hitches in California's Central Valley to help farmers transport their crops to market. The goal of the original founders was to design a safer and more effective way for people to tow their trailers. Valley's line of products increased over years to include trailer balls, tow hooks, weight distributing hitches, wiring kits and other items to address the needs of a towing public that was becoming more informed and exacting Valley's business continued to grow and eventually they were providing products to the 48 contiguous states, including successful ventures with automotive OE manufacturers. In 1991 Valley launched a manufacturing operation in Madison Heights, Michigan, to concentrate on the growing OEM part of its business. Valley was now located closer to the majority of its OEM customer base, which made it easier for them to give proper attention to these customers. In 1999 Valley's Madison Heights OEM trailer hitch operations separated from Lodi (Central Valley, California location), which created two separate entities; the North American OEM hitch business and the North American Aftermarket hitch business. The aftermarket branch continued to do business under its original name, Valley, with administrative, manufacturing and warehouse offices located in Lodi, California. The other branch became Valley Automotive and provides the North American OEM market with complete towing systems and related accessories. In 2010 Valley became a part of Revstone.
