Tire Pressure Monitoring Components

The tire pressure monitoring system is there to alert the driver of underinflated or overinflated tires. It works in real-time which means that the pressure is always being monitored with the car on. It\'s important to know of and to keep tire pressure at the manufacturer set rate, because underinflated tires force the vehicle to use more fuel due to more friction and less than optimal overall diameter. On the other hand, overinflated tires cause a harsher ride due to increased stiffness. Over inflation could also cause a tire to rupture, but that\'s very unlikely unless the tire is overinflated by over 20% or more
