Koni benefits from this union with big company resources and technology, but continues their "small Company" way of doing business. 1They began doing business in 1857, making horse harnesses and upholstery. By 1918 they were making spring covers and later on they began metal car panel beating/spraying. In 1932 Koni started manufacturing friction shock absorbers, the product they ultimately became most known for. In 1945 they introduced the first adjustable shock absorbers for cars and trucks. Koni has grown since 1950 from a skilled local company to an international shock absorber specialist, with subsidiaries in Germany, France and the US, as well as independent national distributors in more than 90 countries. Currently Koni is known as a premier maker of superior quality shock absorbers and stays concentrated on high-performance suspension damping technology for cars, racing, trucks, buses, RVs and railway rolling stock. Koni has a 20,000 square foot facility near Cincinnati, Ohio and the services they provide there include technical support, customer service, product development, fabrication and distribution.

Not only has Koni been doing business for 150 years, but they have been involved in manufacturing automobile dampers since 1945. In addition to their experience building shocks for trucks, buses, RVs and railway rolling stock, this adds up to is Koni's extensive experience in design and manufacturing. Koni made the industry's first adjustable shock absorber, as well as electronic drag racing shocks and now the newly patented FSD (Frequency Selective Damping), street shocks. Koni's innovative product designs improve their product line regularly. Koni is a respected leader in making high-performance shocks, but they remain small enough to still interact directly with their customers on a regular basis. Koni provides the personal attention you seldom experience in today's business world.
