NGK is recognized as the premier manufacturer of spark plugs for almost all automotive, motorcycle, marine and small engine applications. NGK started with just a single product in 1936 and their exceptional growth can be accredited to their doctrine of manufacturing parts where they are going to be used. A large number of NGK Spark Plugs and oxygen sensors sold in the United States are made right here in America. This philosophy allows NGK to work closely with manufacturers to design products that are made to specifically fit their needs. The benefits of this method are obvious in the construction of fourteen factories in eight nations worldwide. In addition, NGK Spark Plugs have been designated as OE by most of the auto manufacturers in the world.

NGK's quest for ultimate quality over the years has resulted in an innovative research and development program. NTK Technical Ceramics evolved out of the premium spark plug technology of ceramics. The new products that resulted have raised the bar in the industry, including IC Packages, Piezoelectronics, Ceramic Filters, Fine Ceramics and Ceramic Cutting Tools. That same dedication to drove the design of additional products such as NGK Wire Sets, NTK Oxygen Sensors, NTK Knock Sensors and many other NTK sensors. These innovations also translated into NTK being the first to achieve several benchmarks for the industry, including introduction of copper core spark plugs, the development of new ceramics and application to integrated computer circuitry, initiation of the "V-Groove" spark plug, development of iridium spark plugs, along with their continuing environmental and anti-pollution initiatives. Combining cutting-edge manufacturing, inventory and distribution facilities in Irvine, California; Sissonville, West Virginia; Chicago, Illinois; as well as ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 certifications, NGK is committed to providing the very best products and service possible to their customers.
