An ABS modulator or anti-lock brake system modulator is the component which regulates the brake force in response to input signals. The received signal from the ABS speed sensor is then used by the ABS control module to modulate the brake force and activate the modulator. The activated ABS modulator operates the braking valves on and off and releases the brake force from one or more wheels. A leaking ABS modulator may cause a low brake pedal, difficulty when shifting or produces white smoke, and has a low transmission fluid.
