A door jamb switch is an electrical switch used to trigger the dome light. It is mounted on the door jamb that turns the dome light on and off as the doors are opened and closed. When the door is closed, the door jamb switch is pressed which opens the circuit for the dome light. When the door is opened, the circuit is then closed, which in turn turns the dome light on.
