A steering arm is a metallic device used to turn the wheels. It is connected to the tie rod assembly that moves horizontally via pitman arm. As the pitman arm converts the rotational motion of the steering gear to horizontal motion, it moves the tie rod assembly left or right, which in turn transfers the torque to the steering arm which rotates the knuckle on its pivot that makes the wheel turn left or right.
